发动机Engine

The engine is the system which produces the power to move the car.

发动机是一个能产生能量使汽车运动的系统。

It does so by burning a precise mixture of fuel and air,converting the fuel's stored energy into mechanical work,and delivering that mechanical work in a useful form.

发动机通过燃烧一定配比的燃油混合气,使化学能转化为机械能,使机械能发挥作用。

Most engines are of reciprocating-piston design,and operate on the four-stroke cycle.

大多数发动机是活塞循环结构,工作于四个冲程。

The combustion of the air/fuel mixture creates tremendous pressure in a closed space above a piston,forcing the piston downward in its cylinder,and translating the energy of combustion into a mechanical force.

燃烧燃料混合气在密封空间中产生巨大的压力,迫使活塞向下运动,将燃料的化学能转为机械能。

The crankshaft converts each piston's motion into rotating motion,in much the same way that the up-and down motion of a person's legs rotates the pedals of a bicycle.

曲轴把活塞的运动转为圆周运动,这跟人的腿一上一下踩单车使单车脚踏板运动道理一样。

The power,transmitted in this rotary form, can then be used to move the car.

在圆周运动转化出来的能量能使汽车行驶。

 

Intake Stroke 进气冲程

The piston while going down inside the cylinder creates low pressure.

活塞在缸体套筒向下运动产生低压。

The fresh air/fuel mixture rushes in because of the low pressure with the intake valve open.

燃油混合气由于进气门开产生低压而进入。

When the piston goes down near the bottom of its travel the intake valve closes ,causing the cylinder sealed,fulled of air and vaporized fuel.

进气门会随着活塞向下运动到底而关闭,并使缸体套筒内封闭而充满燃油混合气 

Compression Stroke
